Our business had grown over the last 15 years from one barber shop to multiple locations with over a hundred employees. We were too busy to find the kind of church that we would feel comfortable in. When we had time to breathe, we didn’t want to waste our time listening to a boring preacher. Someone urged us to check out Epikos. The message touched a part inside of us and made us think about the word of God wisely and interestingly.
Here is the backstory: Epikos works hard to find the next person who needs to meet Jesus. Steve leads worship at the church. He invited me (Don). Steve is such an awesome guy that, when he recommended that I check out Epikos, I definitely knew that it must be a cool place! I brought Alison. And then my nephew. We invited our neighbor (a fellow pro athlete), who had a hard time finding a church where his family felt welcome. Others are doing the same. (Thank you, thank you, thank you, Steve, for inviting us!)
The church not only meets our needs and challenges us spiritually, but it’s an easy place to invite a friend. The environment is comfortable, yet everyone learns and has a chance to live out the Bible. From CEOs to athletes to former substance abusers and “normal people” who thought they would never attend church, a lot of people are finding Jesus for the first time at Epikos. Alison and I are hoping that we can get more people to share Epikos with their friends and family!
